Here's an interesting summary of the kind of economy we need if we are genuinely interested in increasing the chances of survival of future generations, who, unfortunately, don't have a say in what we do today.

David "Drakker" PelletierI won't hide the fact that I constantly argue against biofuel, especially corn based ethanol. People that have had the (bad)luck of entering such an argument with me recently will know.

Here's an article that adds more (bio)fuel to the fire (pun intended).

David "Drakker" PelletierIt's amazing how, when people take things for granted, they can honestly think that finite resources are infinite. I've always been amazed how much fuel was wasted on shipping goods. It's almost as bad as wasting helium, which is very rare on this planet, on balloons for kids and festivals. But in a world where "money must flow" to keep the economy going, most people and economists don't seem to realize this.
Now that we have finally reached peak oil production, prices will only get higher with time. In an ideal world, this will force some innovation in the energy industry and can only be better for local economy and the environment. The mainstream medias are starting to notice this trend, here's an article by ABC on how rising fuel prices are bringing jobs back to North America.
